The Malibu 11.5 Is a touch longer than most one person sit-on-top kayaks, allowing it to track more efficiently in a straight line and glide further between forward paddle strokes. As with all Ocean Kayaks, it has been rotomolded from high-density polyethylene to provide the best hull performance in terms on strength and durability. The features on the 11.5 are also well made from the best quality components and include 4 carry handles, the air-comfort seating system, and an easily accessible watertight storage hatch.
On the water, the Ocean Kayak Malibu 11.5 performs well, and can be enjoyed by first-timers on the water right through to kayaking veterans, looking for a stable and easy to use kayak. The nicely upswept bow cuts through small waves and chop, making it suitable for use on both inland and sheltered coastal waters. Any water that ends up in the on-deck storage areas or cockpit area simply drains away from through the built-in scupper/drainage holes.
The 11.5 is suitable for different height and weight paddlers thanks to the adjustable backrest and moulded in footrests. This allows the kayak to find a suitable seating position and develop a strong paddling posture for efficient journeys. Other features include 3x water-bottle holders, and an extended keel line that assists with forward tracking, even on windier days.
