Tuffstuff

Nova Craft Canoes have introduced a new super lightweight material to the market place in the wake of the discontinuation of Royalex. Nova Craft Tuffstuff canoes are made from a blend of basalt and Innegra fibres.  Basalt fibres are made of melted volcanic basalt rock and Innegra is a fibre consisting mostly of polypropylene. These are then woven together into a cloth and mixed with high impact vinylester resin, the result is that Nova Craft TuffStuff canoes are amongst the strongest and most versatile on the mark today. Nova Craft TuffStuff canoes are a great choice for paddlers looking for a light weight canoe for use on extended flatwater trips and slow moving deep rivers

Tuffstuff Expedition

Nova Craft Tuffstuff Expedition canoes are a heavier duty version of the standard Nova Craft TuffStuff construction. Nova Craft Tuffstuff Expedition canoes are more robust and stiffer offering greater performance and incredible impact resistance. Nova Craft Tuffstuff expedition canoes are an excellent choice for paddlers looking for a light weight boat for extended wilderness trips, flat water sections and deep lower grade moving water.

Fibreglass – Fibreglass canoes are made using woven layers for fibreglass cloth laid out over a mould that sets into place. Fibreglass canoes are very light weight and durable and are a great choice for long distance touring or racing paddlers. 

Aramid Lite

Aramid canoes are the lightest boats in the Novercraft range. They are built by infusing Aramid cloth with a high impact resistant vinylester resin. Aramid canoes have great strength to weight ratio. Aramid canoes are intended for flat water touring, racing and expedition use.

Blue Steel

Blue Steel canoes are made of an aramid and carbon fibre hybrid material. These canoes are light weight like the canoes made of Aramid Lite but are significantly stronger. The carbon fibers add stiffness to the hull resulting in an increase in paddling efficiency. Blue Steel has an inner layer of Innegra creating a high impact resistant vinylester resin makes for a very rugged canoe. Blue Steel canoes are most at home on flatwater and the look of the carbon fiber is stunning.
